It’s here ???? The Lamborghini Huracan EVO has finally been released after many leaked teaser shots.
The official photos have been revealed ahead of the official launch at the Geneva Motor Show. The Huracan now includes a whole host of upgrades and improvements across the aesthetics, mechanics and technology. Many of which taken from both the Performante and Aventador S. Has Lamborghini just made this EVO the cherry on top of the Huracan tree ????
Rear-wheel steering is the main headline which will add a fascinating dynamic to the driving experience. The introduction of rear-wheel steering was highly rated on the Aventador S; turning a heavy brut of a car, into highly agile and capable feeling supercar. We’re excited to see how the smaller and lighter “baby” Lamborghini Huracan EVO will react to it. This rear-wheel steering is combined with a new central ‘dynamics control’ system, combining various chassis controls through a single ‘brain’.
For the first time Lamborghini have introduced torque vectoring into one of their cars, something they hope will reduce the much reported understeering tendencies. The combination of constantly moving power around to where it’s needed, rear-wheel steering and new dynamic controls will hopefully make this new Lamborghini Huracan EVO the precise handling and engaging drivers car it’s always looked to be.
The engine has been taken straight from the Performante, and although weighing an extra 40kg, theLamborghini Huracan EVO’s performance figures are largely unchanged – with a 0-62mph time of 2.9sec, 0-124mph coming in at 9.0sec and a top speed ‘in excess’ of 201mph.
Lamborghini have introduced new stying to the EVO, with a Performante ‘style’ exhaust exit higher up in the rear bumper. Other noticeable features on the rear include the gorgeous engine cover-come-ducktail spoiler. Therefore giving the car a beautifully balanced and visually pleasing silhouette.
Inside there is a new 8.4-inch touchscreen display taken from the stunning new Audi Q8, along with an abundance of Lamborghini’s famed “Forged Composite” – first introduced in the Performante. We think these new additions to the interior really help freshen up and raise the level over other models of Huracan.
With an expected price tag of around £165k in the UK, it sits at £5k above the McLaren 570S Track Pack, and a considerable £20k under the new McLaren 600LT. Could this newLamborghini Huracan EVO be the bargain supercar of the moment? We’ll have to wait and see if the new additions live upto the hype on the road and track.
