Girardo & Co are taking this Safari-winning Subaru home to Prodrive for a complete restoration.
’P8 WRC’ won the gruelling 1997 Safari Rally in Kenya, piloted by legendary rally duo; Colin McRae and his (then) new co-driver Nicky Grist.
After first purchasing the car in 2018, Girardo & Co are now embarking on a fascinating restoration. We’re sure there would have been many capable restoration garages chomping at the bit to take on such a legendary car, however the team decided there was only one place the car could go, in order to take it back to ‘factory’; and that’s the factory itself – taking it back home to Prodrive.
Girardo & Co have had a lot of fun in the car – from the ‘McRae vs. McRae’ film (when they pitched Colin’s father Jimmy, his brother Alister and his young nephew Max against each other in the car), to their Christmas Tree collection video. However, now is the time for ‘P8 WRC’ to get some much needed attention.
